Christian Serratos Respects Life by Going Vegetarian

Actor Christian Serratos of The Walking Dead and the Twilight  saga is celebrating the living and honoring the dead in her latest ad with PETA. Christian previously spoke up for animals by boldly stating that she would rather go naked than wear fur. Now she is doing even more for animals by urging her fans not to treat their bodies like graveyards and to respect life by choosing vegetarian meals. By eating vegetarian, Christian has more energy, helps combat environmental devastation, and saves animals used by the meat industry from a painful life and death. She is continuing her support for all animals in an ad that also honors her Hispanic heritage by commemorating a very cherished holiday, Día de los Muertos, or Day of the Dead.

Cows, pigs, chickens, turkeys, and other animals used by the meat industry die slowly and in pain. They are crowded onto trucks and transported over many miles through all weather extremes, typically without food or water, to the slaughterhouse. Those who survive this nightmarish journey will have their throats slit, often while they are still conscious.

Christian has been helping animals and PETA since she was 14 and says this about her switch to a vegetarian diet: “I just felt better and brighter and lighter, and I had more energy … It was a big deal to me, being an animal lover.”
